Unbeknownst To Me

Earth Walker
Image

Picture if you will, the deepest parts of you
The parts from before memory
Hidden from all things,
The very essence of your being
Therein lies the truth, nothing but the whole
As your life unfolds into its journeys
So the debris falls upon your essence
Without the light of growth
All awareness of you fades,
And your truth with it
Step into who you are, be in yourself
Observe, do that which you do
Call upon your essence
Understand through your experiences the lessons life is teaching you
It means well and it is your teacher
Make haste while you are young
Know thyself, time is in on your side
The debris will fossilise and bury you alive
As your essence fights to stay alive
So those parts of you made up will gather momentum and drown you out
Unbeknownst to me, I am lucky that now, me I see
The darkest hours were only the light is putting up a fight
Now here I stand, more of me
My essence is a growing, sunlit tree
